Little Mix cried when they first heard their track with Missy Elliott
Little Mix cried when they first heard their collaboration with Missy Elliott. The pop foursome worked with the hip-hop legend on their track 'How Ya Doin', which was a ''dream come true'' for them. The group - Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - also teamed up with T-Boz from TLC for the track 'Red Planet'. Speaking to ArtistDirect.com, Perrie, 19, said: ''Having Miss Elliott on a track is absolutely incredible. We actually cried when we heard it back. ''We were so happy and shocked that it happened. Having T-Boz was amazing. ''There's a lot of girl power on the album ['DNA']. We grew up listening to TLC so this is cool. ''Jesy has been in love with Missy Elliott since she was really young.'' Jesy, 22, expanded on why Missy is her idol. She added: ''Missy Elliott has been my idol since I was a little girl. It was the coolest thing. We couldn't believe it. We look up to T-Boz and TLC so much. ''They were massive influences on us. It was lovely having them on our tracks.'' When asked what other artists influenced them, Perrie, who is in a relationship with One Direction's Zayn Malik, said: ''I listened to Journey when I was young, and I still listen to them now!''
Jesy added: ''I love Destiny's Child. I love Beyoncé.''
Little Mix Are Headed in the Right Direction
Just two years ago, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall were
auditioning as solo candidates on the British talent competition show The X-Factor. A judge suggested that they might work better as a group, et voilà: U.K. pop sensation Little Mix was born, winning the show's 2011 season. If all this sounds familiar, it should: U.K. boy-wonders One Direction, whose careers were also launched by The X-Factor, share a record label with Little Mix -- Simon Cowell's Syco records. Edwards is even dating 1D's Zayn Malik -- a pop romance that has reached Britney-and-Justin levels of breathless tabloid coverage overseas.
But Little Mix has certainly won its own fans: "Wings," an effervescent single with a debt to En Vogue, debuted at number one on the U.K. singles chart, was covered on Glee and racked up more than 50 million views on YouTube. All of which makes running errands back home in London a little tough. "If we're just out in the city by ourselves, it's actually fine. Some people might stop you for autographs or photos," says Edwards. "But when we go out as a group it's kind of scary."
Their debut album, DNA, released in November in the U.K. and in late May in the U.S., also features "How Ya Doin'," a collaboration with Missy Elliott. "That was wicked. We've always said from the start that we've wanted to work with her," says Pinnock. TLC's T-Boz is another guest on the album. "I grew up listening to lots of R&B, like TLC, SWV and B2K. I love the '90s. I don't know what it is, but I think it's the best era." As for a certain '90s U.K. girl group that Little Mix is frequently compared to? Yes, they've met them, and, yes, it was awesome. "I never thought we'd meet the Spice Girls," Pinnock gushes about her encounter with Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B. "They told us to work hard, have fun and enjoy it." With the U.K. conquered, the girls invade the U.S. this summer with tour dates and mall appearances. Edwards says, "It'll kind of be like starting from scratch, but we're excited."

Little Mix have left us emotional WRECKS
after jetting off to 'crack' America, but we're somewhat soothed by the mass of
pictures coming in of the girls looking like colour-pop dreams at all the events
and promo-things they're attending. Case in point, J-14's bash in New York City
yesterday:
Perrie's pink dip-dye was set off amazingly by the hot pink backdrop for the
event. while Jade's DYED OVER HER BRIGHT BLUE GORGEOUSNESS with a darker shader
shade, and we're not sure how we feel about it. Leigh-Anne was rocking some cute
studded trousers next to Jesy, who's giving us major style-envy with her leopard
print jacket.

Little Mix are girls cut from the
same cloth as us, as they headed out to chow down on the Peri-Peri at Nando's
Gignics in London over the weekend.
Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and
Leigh-Anne Pinnock went to Haggerston park for music from JLS, Rizzle Kicks and
Ed Sheeran, in some awesome summer styling.
Leigh-Anne and Jesy braved getting their legs out in the not-so-tropical British
summertime, and we frickin' love Leigh-Anne's lacedetailing she wore over her
simple white top, getting the layering trend totally nailed.
We're loving Jesy's cut-off denims and
jazzy blazer, and Perrie managed to stylishly wrap up, with a chich skinny belt finishing off her look.

Little Mix have been pruned and prodded and styled about for another one of those ‘edgy’ magazines again, appearing as schoolgirls and jailmates in the new issue of Notion magazine, styled by Alexis Knox
The girls are said to be representing icons of ‘female fun and rebellion’ – what
being a schoolgirl dressed up to look sexy has to do with female fun and
rebellion we’ll never know, but we like Jesy’s shoes, and it’s nice to see
‘schoolgirls’ without pigtails, and sans a lollipop to suck on suggestively and
make eyes at a teacher with.
Perrie’s currently recovering after having her tonsils whipped out, so has
cancelled her performances at Little Mix’s December gigs.
She’ll probably have to cancel January’s too – when Sugarscape had their tonsils out it took frickin’ ages to be able to speak and feel normal again. Then once the pain goes away you need at least a week to pretend it still hurts so you can eat nothing but ice cream for a week. Like them?

We love when celebs stick to their high
street roots, and one load of lovelies that know their Toppers from their
Primarni are the Little Mix ladies. Yesterday, we were loving Jesy’s monochrome
style at the DNA signing in Long Island, New York, so we searched the ins and
outs of the internet to track down her outfit.
Turns out that, rather awesomely, her
entire look was full of high street gems so we can bag pretty much every piece
all for ourselves without splashing out too many pennies. She’s still, she's
still Jesy from da block.
Jesy wore this statement LOVE pencil skirt, paired with a cute polkadot cropped tee,
and a ton of rockstar chic black and gold jewellery. She added a splash of
colour to her ensemble with a bright necklace, and OBVIOUSLY a pair of killer
studded heels ‘cause that’s just standard practice for Ms Nelson.

eye and a slick of baby pink lipstick added the perfect finishing touches to

Little Mix treated fans to all KINDS of summer treats in London yesterday
afternoon. Basking in the glorious sunshine, the girls performed new single 'How
Ya Doin' (without Missy Elliott, sadly) in Soho Square before heading down to
Covent Garden to wade their way through the "living statues" and jugglers and
stuff, to serve their fans ice cream. We jumped into the back of their cab to
ask what the frick was going on.

Once the girls had given out enough Mr Whippy to never want to look at a
chocolate flake again, signed a frick loada posters and hopefully had a sip of a
slushie or two, they hopped out of the ice-cream van to perform an acoustic
version of 'How Ya Doin' for the waiting crowd. here
IT WAS ACE, although someone's afro kept getting in our way which was slightly
disconcerting, but we struggled on nevertheless. Apologies for the random bits

This has made us far too happy.
Little Mix wowed the crowds last weekend
with their performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Londonderry, Ireland. Whilst
we loved every second of it, we basically spent the whole time trying not to get
our hopes up over the fact that where Radio 1 is, Dan and Phil tend to follow.
And surely that could mean that IN TURN, our two favourite things in the whole
world would collide, in a AmazingLittleMixIsNotonFire interview.
AND LO’, the Gods listened. And it
happened. And it’s wonderful.
Chatting all things Big Weekend, the girls
met up with Dan and Phil to take part in The Legenderry Quiz (pun alert). They
were then subjected to some pretty serious questions and death-defying
scenarios. Heavy.
Perrie reveals her fear of “being exposed
in a rudey dudey way” (which is a much nicer way of saying having your fanny out
for all the world to see on stage), whilst Jesy is aaaall about the nip slip. We
feel like we’ve learnt a lot from this interview.
Jade gets all deep and philosophical, and
reckons that anyone who falls asleep to Little Mix will be able to dream about
everything they dream of going. It’s like a dream within a dream. LITTLE MIX
INCEPTION.
We have to say though, the best moment
probably goes to Dan, who makes an amazing one liner when the girls say they’ve
seen a leprechaun in Derry. Round of applause for his reply of "Are you sure
it's not just bruno mars? ZING!"

Little Mix continue their streak of awesome summer style whilst touring America – PICS
Will these amazing outfits ever end?
Little Mix are blitzing around America at
the moment in a brightly patterned whirlwind, and yesterday they hit
Pennsylvania to perform a few of their best tunes in an intimate gig at the Q102
Performance Theater.
Not only did the ladies wow the crowds
with their super amazing vocal abilities, but they also made some rather lovely
summer fashion statements, which we’re now going to overanalyse, get very
excited about, and possibly dribble a bit over.
Jade, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jesy were all
looking a bit like they’d fallen over in the shared wardrobe department of Saved
By The Bell and Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but somehow managed to make it look
AHMERZING.
Jade opted for some rather jazzy trousers, Leigh-Anne rocked clashing prints,
Perrie did ditsy florals and Jesy went for cool and casual baseball shirt.

When we saw that Zayn Malik had got
himself a brand new tattoo to add to his already immense collection we were a)
glad that he’d finally decided to share his love for Jacob Black with the world,
and b) a bit worried that he’d gone through agonising hours of tattooing all on
his lonesome.
Even the Bradford Bad Boi needed a hand to
hold when his bottom lip started to wobble whilst getting his latest tattoo done
a couple of weeks ago. Enter Perrie Edwards, girlfriend/superhero
extraordinaire, who was there the whole time to take Zayn’s mind off the needles
scraping at his skin. We knew he was a softie really.
Snaps have appeared on Twitter today
showing that good ol’ Pezza was there all along, to mop Zayn’s brow whilst the
latest addition to the 1D tattoo zoo was born. It should be some kind of rule
that our favourite celebs have to let us know when all this excitement is
happening. We feel cheated.
Actually, it looks a bit like she's giving
him a bit of a telling off about something or other. Maybe he used up all the
hairspray that morning. That quiff is more trouble than it's Worth.
Our most favourite couple in the whole
world ever were also joined by Perrie’s brother (in the purple t-shirt),
probably on hand to make sure no funny business occurred.
Although judging by the forlorn look on
Zayn's beautiful face, the only thing on his mind was trying as hard as possible
to not blub and remain all manly infront of his lady. That's some serious fist
clenching going on right there.
Whilst the snaps of Zayn and Perrie being
all supportive and adorable to one another have made our hearts perform magic
tricks, we're mostly enjoying the cheeky snap of Zayn's hairless leg. It's so
silky smooth and shiny.
And check out that ankle action. (It says
a lot about a boy when we even fancy his hairy ankles).
As if all that wasn't enough Zerrie action
for one day, this final slightly stalkerish shot shows that Perrie also had a
sit down in the tatttooists chair. Does this mean Zayn was holding her hand
whilst she got one done too? MAYBE THEY'RE MATCHING. Or maybe she was just tired
and needed a rest.

Zayn Malik Shields Girlfriend Perrie Edwards Under His Hoodie On Romantic Stroll
The Little Mix singer joined the One Direction man out on the group's tour.
One Direction's Zayn Malik has been pictured out with girlfriend Perrie Edwards as the couple enjoyed a romantic stroll on a day off from the band's 'Take Me Home' world tour.The Little Mix star cuddled up to the Bradford-born star as he put his hoodie around her, shielding her from the rain.
The pair were snapped together out in Germany, with the boys concluding the European leg of their 'latest jaunt this week.

The 'How Ya Doin?' four-piece's debut album has stormed the chart on the first day of sales.
Little Mix's bid to crack America if off to a strong start after their debut album shot straight in to number two in the US on its first day of release.
The UK four-piece released first album 'DNA' stateside earlier today (28th May), after their success with debut US single 'Wings' earlier this year, and the record is already riding high on the US iTunes chart.
The deluxe edition of the girls' record 'DNA' is currently at number two, just behind Daft Punk's latest release 'Random Access Memories', while the standard edition of the album is at number eight.
This puts Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne's first album ahead of releases from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Vampire Weekend and Demi Lovato on the iTunes album download chart in America.

The 'How Ya Doin?' stars are currently out in the US promoting the album's release, after revealing that One Direction advised them to "be true to who you are" when trying to being their music across the pond.
Little Mix have previously admitted they would love to have their own reality show like The Wanted and The Saturdays that follows their attempts to crack America.

The 'Wings' four-piece are travelling across the US promoting their first album this month.
Little Mix continued their promotional tour of the US this week with a stop in New York City, fresh from the release of their debut album 'DNA' stateside.
The 'Change Your Life' four-piece have been out in America for several weeks now, and marked the release of their new record with a fan signing event in Long Island, New York.
Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards were pictured outside the fan signing event, as they continue to travel across the US promoting their music.
"Another splendiferous day in New York! Off to Philadelphia tomorrow cannot wait to see our mixers there :) nanaite love y'all xxjadexx," Jade tweeted last night (29th May).
The 'Wings' singers also received a message of congratulations from The X Factor boss Simon Cowell this week, after 'DNA' reached number two on the US iTunes chart within 24 hours of its release.
"So proud of @LittleMixOffic! The first group to win @TheXFactor UK have released their debut album #DNA in the US," the Syco boss tweeted.

Little Mix made their BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend Festival debut this weekend, and the ladies slayed it.
The U.K. ‘X Factor‘ alumni delivered a flawless rendition of ‘How You Doin’,’ and though Missy Elliott wasn’t on hand to contribute her rhymes, the audience didn’t seem to miss her much. Elliott did appear on a screen that played her feature in the background while the Little gals danced their cute behinds off, though, and it all mixed seamlessly.
Also on hand at the festival? Jessie Ware!
British pop star Katy B performed her track ‘Aaliyah,’ and it wasn’t the first time she sang the song live — but it was the first time she got help from the ‘Wildest Moments’ singer. The crowd ate it up, and with good reason — Ware’s sultry, soulful vocals were an intriguing contrast to the bubblegum track.

Little Mix, Earth, Wind & Fire And More Added To 2013 Wireless Festival
Little Mix, Earth, Wind & Fire and Ed Drewett are among the bevy of musicians that have been added to the star-studded bill for this year's Wireless festival.
The 'Wings' singers will be making their debut at the annual music event in July, which will be held across three days in July at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the first time after a move from Hyde Park. Joining Little Mix on July 12 will be afrobeats star Wiz Kid, B Smyth, Joel Compass and Ed Drewett who has worked with the likes of One Direction, Olly Murs and The Wanted.

Earth, Wind & Fire have also been added to the bill for July 13 while Rascals, Dream McLean, Roses Gabor and urban songstress Etta Bond will joining them on the second day. Hitting the stage on July 14 will be US rap star Joey Bada$$, Stylo G, Context, Sasha Keable and Sinead Hartnett.
'Suit & Tie' singer Justin Timberlake was previously announced as the headliner on the first day with Jay-Z dominating the line-up on Saturday.
The dynamic duo will then hit the stage together on the final day to provide festival-goers with a preview of their US 'Legends of the Summer' tour.
Other acts gracing the various stages across the mammoth weekend include Nas, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, Emeli Sande, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and will.i.am.
